A study published December 28, 2017 in the New England Journal of Medicine has reported no long-term clinically significant adverse events with the use of MRI 1.5 Tesla in patients who had a legacy pacemaker or a legacy implantable cardioverter–defibrillator (ICD) system i.e. which was not considered to be MRI-conditional.
